Arts Extravaganza new
Do you love illustrating with pencil and paper? In this self-paced, after-school class, you will be given the opportunity to work on different art projects. Among the possibilities are: scaled drawings, perspective, the human figure, caricature, manga, cartoon and logo design. The best thing is YOU get to decide what you want to do under the guidance of a trained artist/designer.

If you love to draw, can’t get enough of Project Runway, and always wanted to learn to sew, then this is the class for you. Don’t worry if you’ve never touched a sewing machine before—it’s easier than you think. You will draw the nine head fashion figure in correct proportion, understand fabric choices and sketch accurately, design a fashion paper doll complete with tiny wardrobe, and learn to think like a designer. In addition, you will get a complete introduction to the sewing machine and hand sewing techniques. You will create a tote bag and zippered case to take with you at the end of the class. Class is limited to 15 students.

Transform plain papers into colorful, multi-layered and textured surfaces. Fold mini books, upcycle discarded books and build books from scratch. Learn several binding techniques as you finish your hand built books with woven fiber and ribbon bindings. Fill your book pages with rich imagery, collage and text. Students will learn basic color theory; how to apply texture and pattern to paper; folding; block cutting and stamp making; collage and lettering techniques; and how to incorporate materials such as art metal, plastic and fabric into their journals.

Learn the basics of turning your photos into story telling pages by layering them on scrapbook pages, adding titles, journaling and embellishments. Get practice using scrapbooking tools and techniques as you create meaningful scrapbook pages. Utilize color theory, layout and design principals as you make your pages aesthetically pleasing
