R. Almasin
R. Almasin was raised in Hawaii and graduated from the University of Hawaii at Hilo in 1997 with a degree in Political Science.  He taught  middle school in Hawaii for four years before moving to California. Mr. Almasin currently teaches Algebra, U.S. History, and Careers at Prospect High School in San Jose.  He is also the varsity boy's soccer head coach at Prospect and an assistant men's soccer coach at De Anza College. 

A. Ascher
Ms. Ascher is an Arts Educator from San Jose, CA.  She holds a BA in Theatre Arts from Santa Clara University and a CBEST certification. Ms, Ascher has experience teaching all ages in the area of image development, acting for stage and film, improv acting, make-up for stage & film, public speaking and dramatic arts. She is an actor and singer with numerous stage, TV, commercial, industrial and voice over credits. She has served as producer, stage manager, set designer, makeup stylist, costume designer, and production coordinator for various venues around the Bay Area. Additionally, Ms. Ascher has worked as an in-house multi-media producer/art director with Penrose Productions and has over 40 Industrial/Educational videos, and two Joey's to her credit.

M. Baca
Mr. Baca has been the lead sports instructor for College for Kids in years past. He specializes in preparing students with the skills needed for competitive play. He is a middle school Physical Education teacher and has coached basketball, track, and wrestling. He was active in many sports while in college, including playing on the Tennis team at San Jose State University. Mr. Baca’s Volleyball and Tennis classes are always among the most popular courses. This year, he will be incorporating several other team sports into the volleyball class, to allow for a broader range of skill to be learned.

J. Bratton
Ms. Bratton received her Bachelor's of Arts in English Literature from UCLA and her teaching credential at UCSD. She has her Pupil Personnel Services Credential and Master's in Counseling from SJSU. She has taught in English in California public schools as well as in Japan and Taiwan and currently teaches in West Valley’s Middle-College program for high school students. This is Jenny's second year teaching creative writing for Summer College for Kids. She enjoys teaching here because, as she says, “the students are the best!”

L. Carassco
L. Carrasco was born and raised in San Jose. She graduated from Hawaii Pacific University in 2005 with a BA in Theater. She taught elementary, middle school and high school students Drama and English at SCH Soon Chung Huyang University in South Korea for a year and a half. She also taught English to University students and a small business group wanting to practice English conversational skills. Currently she is attending Mission College where she will obtain her certification as a Personal Trainer and works with underrepresented students in the Welcome Center and the Disabled Student's program helping students with physical limitations work out in the weight room. Ms. Carrasco has traveled to Mexico, China, Thailand, Korea (Jeju), Hawaii and Egypt. She's been asked to teach Drama In China and English in Thailand. Her future goal is to teach English in Japan for two years and continue traveling.

H. Chin
Mr. Chin is an independent filmmaker with a degree in computer animation. He has worked for Sun Microsystems creating corporate training videos and flash multimedia presentations. He has taught filmmaking at Mount Pleasant High School and is a part-time instructor at West Valley College. Mr. Chin has developed an extensive Digital Media curriculum for college for kids – students have the opportunity to focus their full summer session in Digital Media or take individual classes in specific areas of interest.

P. Davis
Ms. Davis grew up in the heart of Cajun country, cooking and eating the best food on earth! She received her bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Science in 1996 from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She enjoys cooking and sharing her love of good food with others.

L. Dibble
Originally from the Bay Area, Ms. Dibble graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Mathematics.  She went on to earn three teaching credentials at College of Notre Dame in Belmont.  Ms. Dibble has spent several years teaching 5th through 12th grades. She enjoys teaching Art, Spanish, Math, Language Arts, and Science. She is a world traveler who has spent much time in Holland, Mexico, Costa Rica, Spain, England, Italy, and Greece. 

S. Evans
Art has always played an integral part of Ms. Evans’ personal and professional life. She has studied painting, drawing, printmaking, and weaving. After receiving her degree in apparel design from the Art Institute of Portland she moved to California and began a career in apparel manufacturing where she worked in all areas of garment production from sportswear pattern making to designing haute couture bridal gowns. Ms. Evans earned her B.A. from San Jose State University majoring in Creative Arts with an emphasis in multicultural art for children. She then went on to complete her Multiple Subject Credential from San Jose University earning the President’s Scholar Award. In addition, she has continued to study art through adult education classes and independent study and practice. Ms. Evans currently teaches in the Campbell Union School District.

L. Louden
Ms. Louden is a photographic artist and college educator who embarks upon documentary projects as well as self-assigned digital photographic installations. Her photographs reveal stories of individuals through creative ways of seeing. Most recently her documentary projects have taken her to Botswana and Lesotho, Africa and San Andres Island, Columbia to reveal the complex and un-romanticized stories of individual subjects in innovative ways. Ms. Louden grew up in Ohio and received her MFA in photography from Cranbrook Academy of Art and MA in photo-media from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. She currently teaches photography and digital imaging at West Valley College and Foothill College.

S. Marshall
Stacy Marshall has a Multiple Subject Credential and has experience in teaching Spanish as well as other subjects. She is a teacher with an animated teaching style that engages students. She has taught at the elementary, middle school, and high school level.

B. Warshawsky
B. Warshawsky hails from New York and spent time at school in Washington, D.C. before settling in the San Jose area. He has taught middle school history for five years, and has experience in environmental education. With many years of experience working in government and politics, Mr. Warshawsky brings political savvy and knowledge of the government from the inside to the classroom, while his outdoor experiences make for an interesting hands-on survival skills class.

R. Welling
R. Welling grew up on Long Island and graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelors Degree in Biology. Growing up, Ms. Welling worked for her parents in their family business "Welling Motion Picture Services". The business was a 16mm film library before the days of VHS tapes and DVDs. After college, ms. Welling moved to Austin, Texas to earn a Masters in Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. She has been working in the field of Accounting for over 20 years. In 1986, she moved to Northern California and developed a love of hiking, bicycling and knitting. Ms. Wellling finds that knitting is a sure way to rest, relax and be creative. It is a skill that young people can learn and continue to develop throughout their lives.
